Ploughshares Nursery -Alameda Point Collaborative
Ploughshares Nursery trains and employs residents of the Alameda Point Collaborative supportive housing community. Ploughshares Nursery is a non-profit social enterprise of the Alameda Point Collaborative supportive housing community. 100% of its sales support housing and services for formerly homeless families and individuals living on the old Alameda Naval Base in Alameda CA. We advance our local community by: 1) Selling products that protect the environment, 2) Using recycled materials whenever possible, 3) Creating job training and employment opportunities for residents of APC housing and 4) Generating revenue to support APC housing.
Alameda Point Collaborative - Farm2Market
APC Farm2Market is a small, diversified working farm that produces thousands of pounds of sustainably grown produce each year. We are a social enterprise of Alameda Point Collaborative and use our passion for food and the environment to support APC residents as they move toward economic self-sufficiency and greater health and wellness. Proceeds from our CSA (community supported agriculture) program and other sales activities are pumped back into APC’s programs and activities for its resident community.
Saint Anthony's Foundation
St. Anthony’s Foundation is an organization providing essential support to San Franciscans living in poverty. We believe that supporting people in need makes the city a better place to live. Every day, with dignity and respect, we offer thousands of the most vulnerable among us the basics we all need to feel human: a hot meal, fresh clothing, an opportunity to connect with the world around us. We bring people together in this work because we know it takes a community to break down barriers and create a society where all people flourish.
Genesis is a community of member organizations working together for access to opportunity, health and quality education for people throughout the Bay Area. Unifying our member congregations and institutions, we have successfully advanced significant public policy initiatives to secure jobs in communities of color and low-income families in funding for public transportation.
Genesis is the local Bay Area affiliate of the Gamaliel Network. Gamaliel is the organizing network that hired and trained President Barack Obama in community organizing in the southside of Chicago, Illinois.
St. Mary's Center
St. Mary’s Center, a nonprofit organization, provides essential services to improve the quality of life for at-risk seniors and preschoolers in Oakland.
Each year we stabilize the lives of more than 1,350 homeless seniors and frail seniors living alone, assist neighborhood families who need supplementary groceries, and provide a preschool for 48 children living in poverty. Nearly 3,000 people are impacted each year by the work of St. Mary’s Center.
Cristo Rey East Bay De la Salle High School
Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School St. Elizabeth Campus in Oakland joins 35 successful Cristo Rey Network schools operating across the country. The Corporate Work Study Program empowers students to contribute to the cost of their education. Working five days per month, four students share one full-time entry-level position at a business, nonprofit, or government agency. Cristo Rey De La Salle integrates this innovative Corporate Work Study Program with a rigorous, personalized college preparatory academic offering.
Atencion Integral al Migrante (AIM) and Atencion Integral al Deportado (AID)
The Mission of Atencion Integral al Migrante (AIM) and Atencion Integral al Deportado (AID) is to create a safe welcoming space for both asylum Seekers and recently deported individuals to have access to the resources they need to to survive and thrive while they remain in Tijuana.
