My name is Jacob Turnrose, I am currently a junior at SMC working towards a major in politics and a double minor in Sociology and Theology and Religious Studies. At my time at Saint Marys, I have been heavily involved in The Collegian, our student-run newspaper. I am the current Culture Section Editor. In addition, I am passionate about social justice, vegetarianism, and vinyl records among other things.
I am my own favorite comedian! I am a compassionate and loving person who has a really big heart. I refer to my brain as a library of tid-bits of information about a ton of different, often non-relevant things.
My name is Debby Romero. I am a third year at the University of San Diego, double majoring in Spanish and Sociology. I am from Anaheim, CA but have roots in Toluca, Estado de Mexico. I have a big heart, but an even bigger family that inspires me each and everyday be compassionate and critical.
My name is Samantha Samson and I am majoring in Global and Regional Studies (something like international relations) with hopes to earn a concentration in social justice at Saint Mary's College of California. I am Bay Area born and raised. Sunny days beach trips, good food, and my dog make me the happiest, but so does knowing I have the potential to leave a positive impact on others.
My name is Maddie Yocum, and I am a rising Senior at Saint Mary's College, studying Politics with a minor in Economics. I am on the pre-law track and hope to one day pursue non-profit law. I am heavily involved in the community at SMC as a part of CILSA, the Associated Students, and a Resident Advisor. I find I am at my best when I am serving others. I seek out meaningful experiences and intentional connections, which is what brought me to the Micah Program. I cannot wait for all that God has in store for me this summer, and am so thankful for the opportunity I have to continue to love on His people.

My name is Jocelyne, also known as Jashy by friends. I was born in the US but raised in Mexico with a binational upbringing in the borderlands of Sonora and Arizona. I am passionate about social justice and I love engaging with new communities and exchanging stories and experiences.
My name is Serena DeTorres, and I am a second year student at Saint Mary's College studying Justice, Community, and Leadership with a concentration in Leadership for Social Justice. I love to dance, sing, promote social justice, and make people happy. With everything I do, I make sure that it contributes to my core value of implementing meaningful work.
I am a Junior at USD majoring in English and minoring in Theology and Religious Studies. I am a student leader in University Ministry, and care deeply about the values of Spirituality and Social Justice. Through University Ministry I have been fortunate enough to have my worldview widened by immersion experiences in Tijuana, Mexico, and am concerned about changing the perception of border and immigration issues. I love to read, travel, surf, play basketball, and try exotic cuisines. I recently studied abroad with Semester at Sea, and am hoping to teach internationally after I graduate.
